AWM may cut jobsThe Textile, Clothing and Footwear Union said there are fears 30 of the 80 workers at the Devonport mill could lose their jobs. Union organiser Mark Edwards says any job losses would be a blow to the north-west community. Devonport City Council's General Manager, Ian McCallum says he has received assurances about the future of the business. "We've been assured by the manager of the mill that the mill is not closing," he said. "We are concerned that there could be job losses in the community; any job losses in the community is a concern."
